Courses in religion enable students to examine their own
religious heritage as well as that of others. Through this
process, students not only increase their comprehension,
but also enrich their understanding of life. The Judaic-Christian
religion requirement of the general education core may be
met by taking anyone of the following: REL-l00, 101, 200,
210, 220, 250, 260, 310, 330, or 390.
The department offers two majors: the Pre-Theology major
and the Religion major. The Pre-Theology major is designed
for students who plan to attend a seminary after their undergraduate
degree. The Religion major provides more flexibility, but
still affords a solid basis for the students who wish to
pursue graduate studies.
